Star Wars Director JJ Abrams and Infinity Blade Developer Announce Spyjinx

November 11, 2015 by Stephen Daly

It’s an espionage strategy game. Don’t tell anyone.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director and Infinity Blade and Shadow Complex developer Chair are working on a new espionage action strategy game called Spyjinx.

The game, which mixes strategy and RPG-style character creation, will be released for PC, smartphones, tablets, and "eventually, hopefully everywhere that you play games", Chair says.

You can already sign-up if you're in interested in joining the beta, which will run at some point in 2016.

It's not entirely clear what Abrams' involvement is, but his production company Bad Robot has been looking into games for sometime. In a reveal interview with gaming presenter Geoff Keighley, which you can see below, Abrams explains that he approached Chair after playing Infinity Blade with his kids.

Epic Games is involved somehow as well and the game is being developed on the Unreal Engine but other details are scarce.
