Resident Evil is one of the most well known and beloved franchises in gaming. It has carried the torch for the survival-horror genre since it originally began in the 90s, and its popularity is bigger than ever thanks to numerous high profile releases in recent years.
Those releases include games like Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. With that in mind, it was only a matter of time before Capcom announced the remake of Resident Evil 4. However, because it was announced at a Sony State of Play event, and perhaps because some Resident Evil title have had PlayStation VR functionality, some fans may be wondering if the Resident Evil 4 remake is a PlayStation exclusive.
Is Resident Evil 4 remake a PlayStation exclusive?
The short answer is no. Fans of Resident Evil 4 who plan to play the new iteration on PC or Xbox Series X|S can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the game will be available as a multiplatform title.
Resident Evil 4 is generally considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time, and among the best games in the Resident Evil series. With that in mind, it would have been a shame for the new remake to be locked to a single platform. So, we’re glad that many players will be able to experience it across a range of devices.
That said, it is important to note that the Resident Evil 4 remake will have some exclusive content for PlayStation VR2. Capcom has not yet detailed what this content will include.
