You Can Now Download The Star Wars Battlefront Companion App

November 10, 2015 by Carlos Chism

It also serves as its own standalone game.

EA has released the companion app for Star Wars Battlefront on iOS and Android. The app, called Star Wars Base Command, can be played standalone, or as a companion game. The aim, if played in conjunction with Battlefront  is to earn credits for use in the upcoming shooter. The app describes itself as a “Casual card game played in turns. The goal of the game is to protect your Base from a massive invasion force.”

Star Cards from Star Wars Battlefront are used to complete Sieges in Base Command and get more Credits by earning stars. New Star Cards, blasters, and more, can be purchased in the app. Loadouts for Battlefront can also be selected in preparation for matches in the main game.

The app also has functionality to see what your friends are up to and get notified when they start playing Battlefront, along with the ability to check your own and your friends stats in both games.

The companion app home page shows recent news. The career tab shows your player rank, star cards, blasters unlocked and other relevant information. The Base Command tab allows you to play the turn-based standalone game.

EA has started the main marketing push behind their fall flagship title. The app has been released as part of Battlefront’s Early Access arrival today, one week before launch. If you are signed up for EA Access, and want to use the app, or simply can’t wait for Star Wars Battlefront to release next Tuesday, November 17, you can download the app now.
