Did you enjoy our Fallout 4 Reviews Roundup? Maybe you’re overwhelmed by the verbose, possibly circumlocutory reviews you just made yourself read? If that’s the case, we have a little diversion for you.
Amazon reviewers have been dropping their judgements on Fallout Beer, the collaboration between Bethesda, Amazon, and Carlsberg, and the results are less pretty than glitches on the Creation Engine. From 41 reviews, the case of 12 has received a scathing 2.7 out of 5 stars. 11 of those reviews gave it one star. Suffice to say beer lovers were less forgiving than the game reviewers.
But then, what was the big problem here? Well, for starters, Fallout Beer really is just Carlsberg in new packaging. Perhaps fans were expecting a bespoke microbrewery product, to the level of Jones Soda’s turkey and gravy softdrinks. Maybe even just a slightly different blend would have made some happy. For what it’s worth, reviewers were mixed on liking Carlsberg.
However, some consumers did know it would be rebranded Carlsberg, and have other issues. Unfortunately, it seems to have been a poor product overall. Most consumers who received their cases found the labels did not stick to their bottles, some folded, and some completely removed. There was also disappointment that the labels didn’t have much in the way of Easter eggs or references to the games.
Worst of all, unfortunately, was the bottle caps. While we have a guide for the iconic Nuka Cola bottle caps as barstools, these Fallout Beer bottle caps didn’t even have any labels on them.
