In the world of television, there are two rather easy ways to tell if a show is doing really good in the eyes of its distributor (meaning the channel its own or the streaming service it’s within). The first way is to just get renewed. If you get renewed, that means the channel/service has faith you’ll bring them money and thus will continue your shows lifespan. The second way it to get renewed…VERY early into your new seasons’ run. Because that means you’re a runaway hit that they want to keep rolling for as long as possible. And for The Boys…they’re that.
Which is infinitely ironic and hilarious for the simple reason…The Boys is ANYTHING BUT a typical superhero show. In fact, it actually rallies to be unlike anything you’ve seen before in the superhero realm, or even the TV realm to a certain extent, and it succeeds on various levels. As such, even though they’re just 4 episodes into their third season, the cast revealed via the set of clips above that Season 4 is approved. Proving that the show is doing REALLY well viewer-wise and that Amazon Prime Video wants to keep one of its biggest hits coming, and likely get Season 4 out before there’s another long wait.
Do recall that Season 3 was held back in part due to the pandemic. But now that things are on better footing with filming restrictions and such? They can get Season 4 rolling soon hopefully.
Now, as for what Season 4 could be about…we honestly have no idea, and speculating would honestly just make us look foolish. Don’t forget, while The Boys does follow the comics by Garth Innis…they don’t follow them point for point as this season shows in full. So there could be a LOT of twists in the final five episodes that could make Season 4 something even more insane…and enjoyable.
