Netflix has officially announced the release date for Season 2 of The Cuphead Show, an animated series based on the popular 2017 indie game, Cuphead. Season 2 of The Cuphead Show is scheduled to appear on Netflix from August 19, 2022, and will follow the misadventures of Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms Chalice. A new trailer has been released, which you can view below:
The Cuphead Show debuted in February with twelve episodes, which last for roughly 10 minutes each. Instead of following a consistent narrative, the show tends to focus on various one-shot adventures similar to Scooby-Doo and even Tom & Jerry. Fans are hoping for more references to the source material, as opposed to the comedic stylings of the first season, though many viewers were able to look past this due to the excellent writing in some of the episodes.
Recently, Studio MHR, the developers of Cuphead, revealed more information about the game’s upcoming DLC titled Cuphead in The Delicious Last Course. This expansion will put players against a new selection of challenging bosses, in addition to allowing them to play as Ms Chalice, a recurring character from the base game and TV show. Cuphead in the Delicious Last Course is scheduled to launch on June 30, and Studio MHR has confirmed that the expansion has since gone gold.
