God Of War: Ragnarok Reportedly Releasing In November

June 10, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

We’ll take anything that isn’t a delay.

Another day, another rumor about what’s going on with God of War: Ragnarok. The game was noticeably missing from any of the reveals shown during last night’s Summer Game Fest, leaving many fans with questions about when, if ever, we’re going to find out about the highly-anticipated sequel’s release.

According to a new report from reporter Jason Schreier at Bloomberg, the game is actually on course for a November release window. That’s according to “three people familiar with the game’s development,” two of whom have claimed that Sony will announce the date for God of War: Ragnarok’s release later this month. The game is expected to be a huge hit with fans of the original God of War, which sold almost 20 million copies and is widely considered to be one of the best games of the last console generation.

The game has been the subject of scrutiny recently thanks to major hype around current gaming showcase events, and fans are seeming certain that they’ll be getting some kind of news about it this month. While there have been delays in development on God of War: Ragnarok, the online hype has been fuelled most recently by Sony putting the original God of War on June’s list of free PS+ games.

As per the Bloomberg report, God of War: Ragnarok was originally intended for a September release, which would line up with reports from last month of September-slated merch appearing online. However, internal production and development issues have meant that the release has now been pushed back to November.

Whether or not this new information is true is impossible to say. However, with a number of upcoming showcase events happening this month, we’ll keep our fingers crossed. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more news on all things God of War: Ragnarok in the coming weeks.
