Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the first official trailer for the upcoming Warcraft movie will debut this Friday, November 6, on the first day of Blizzard’s annual BlizzCon event. The company has also released a new poster for the movie. It shows the characters Durotan (Toby Kebbel) and Lothar (Travis Fimmel), with a sword blade between them. Above the title is what could possibly be the movie’s tagline: “Two worlds. One home.”
The film opens in theaters on June 10 next year. It was directed by Duncan Jones, whose past work includes Moon and Source Code. The rest of the cast includes Dominic Cooper, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, and Clancy Brown. Blizzcon this year runs from November 6-7 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. While physical tickets are sold out, it still may be possible to get a virtual ticket for $40.
The film itself is highly anticipated by WarCraft fans, who hope that it can live up to their expectations. We recently learned the movie is practically finished, and that a trilogy may be possible, depending on how things go with this one. Fans were also treated to a first look at Ogrim Doomhammer, one of the film’s characters, earlier this year.
