Microsoft continues expanding its gaming presence. The company is now releasing the Xbox App on Samsung 2022 Smart TVs so gamers can play on a big screen even without a console.
For a few years now, Microsoft has been massively investing in its gaming branch, Xbox. The company purchased several gaming studios to expand its catalogs, such as Bethesda Softworks and Activision Blizzard.
As the Xbox Game Pass now has several games to offer, Microsoft is looking for new ways to reach players. For those who do not have an Xbox Series X/S at home and don’t play on PC, there is now a new way to access Xbox games.
Hundreds of games available in the Game Pass Ultimate library will be available on Samsung 2022 Smart TVs without a subscription. More games are available for Game Pass Ultimate members, just like on the other Microsoft platforms.
Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, says that the goal of Xbox is to “build a platform that can reach billions of players—whether it’s on console, whether it’s on PC, whether it’s through Xbox cloud streaming – where players on any device they want to play on should be able to find the content they want to play.”
Starting on June 30, the Samsung Gaming Hub or Media Hub on the 2022 TVs will show the Xbox app. Users can then log in to an existing Microsoft account or create a new one to start playing.
Microsoft should unveil more games coming to its cloud gaming service this Sunday during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.
