Gearbox has released several major updates and patches for most of its Borderlands game on both current-gen and last-gen consoles. The updates, which contain “bug fixes, performance improvements, and more,” are for Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre Sequel, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. The updates are available on all platforms, including Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, where applicable.
Here are the major updates, broken down by game:
Borderlands 2:
· Balance changes and refinements to elemental-based skills
· Adding The Fastball item to Boll’s loot pool
· Legendary drop rate improvements are now permanent
· Missions that can be failed and re-attempted will now show the correct level when the player re-accepts the mission
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel:
· Mostly “bug fixes and performance improvements”
· The legendary drop rates here are now also permanent
· Players can now right-click items in the inventory to sell non-favorited items
· Claptrap will no longer drop his buzzaxe when pressing the “drop weapon” key.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
· Contains all changes made to Borderlands 2 and The Pre-sequel
· "Quality-of-life features, bug fixes, and performance improvements specific to The Handsome Collection."
· Players will now be able to consistently find matches through matchmaking and quick match.
· Added FOV slider to Video Options menu.
Earlier this year, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford announced a new Borderlands game. While he wouldn’t confirm whether or not it would be Borderlands 3, he did say that it would not come to Xbox 360 and PS3, instead only releasing on current-gen consoles (and presumably, PC).
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
