The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is coming out on Netflix on June 22nd. And during Netflix’s “Geeked Week”, they decided to showcase a new clip from the premiere that’ll help set the stage for all that is to come! But first, a little bit of reminding you what happened at the end of Season 2. After stopping the end of the world (that they almost caused, again), the Hargreeves children went back to the present…except it wasn’t the present that they remembered.
Not only was their “father” Reginald Hargreeves alive in full, he was actually the head of the Sparrow Academy. And as we see in the very awesome “Ballroom Blitz” trailer for Season 3, the Umbrellas get their butts kicked by the Sparrows and thus need a place to stay.
Which leads us to this clip. Because if you recall the trailer, the Umbrella Academy are hiding out at a hotel known as The Hotel Obsidian (which is a key place in the Gerard Way comics), and it’s in this clip that Klause of all people is introducing us to all that is going on in with his place.
According to him, this is a place that used to be the “go-to spot” for some of the biggest elite in the world (and he happily rattles them off) and then notes that while it’s not that illustrious now, it’s the perfect place to be hidden…no questions asked.
No doubt the other Hargreeves are curious about why Klause chose this place, and it’s more than likely that he shacked up in this spot during his days as a cult leader from Season 2. And we do know based on the previous trailer that they are indeed staying there for at least a little while. So we’ll have to see how it all unfolds when the Umbrella Academy Season 3 arrives on Netflix on June 22nd.
