The gap between Seasons 4 & 5 of My Hero Academia was very long. Not surprisingly, that was due to the pandemic wrecking just about everything in the anime industry, from how they made the episodes to how they got the voice actors to do their roles from home or in special areas outside the studio. However, the gap between Seasons 5 & 6 is going to be much shorter. After all, Season 5 ended last year, and Season 6 is coming this year, so it all works out. But wait, there’s more!
Because you might recall that two OVAs (original video animations) were revealed to be coming out this year as well. The first one will be based off an “April Fool’s Joke” in which Class 1-A will try and form their own baseball team. So a classic anime/sitcom trope. Then, there is the second one, which got a poster and description today.
It’ll take place within the timeline of Season 5, where Deku, Todoroki and Bakugo are still at the Endeavor Agency as part of their Work Studies program and will be learning from the now No.1 Pro-Hero.
They’ll be battling a new villain in this OVA, which will be titled… “Laugh! As if you are in Hell”
…that’s not menacing at all. But given who Endeavor is? Not exactly “out of character” for him. We don’t have any release dates for these two, but we have no doubt they’ll come out soon enough to help promote Season 6 of MHA.
This upcoming season will feature the “War Arc”, which is going to be a major turning point in the My Hero Academia story for various reasons that we won’t spoil. Fans are hoping for some big battles and surprises, and they might just get it.
