Wondering how Free Run will work on Call of Duty Black Ops 3? We have a brief new video demonstrating how it will feel like.
We covered how Treyarch has revised the movement system, with wall running, powersliding, thrust jumping and other elements making it possible to transition into each action seamlessly, as long as you have your wits about you.
Now, you can see that the Free Run courses serve to be more challenging than realistic. Much like indie free runner Lemma, courses have floating elements mid air you have to navigate using all your movement abilities. There are even blocks of water you can inexplicably jump into to swim upwards from.
There are also segments where you have to pick up guns and shoot at targets while moving to open up paths and keep going. Technically, the mode has no violence, but there’s definitely some gunplay to help fully prepare you to getting into firefights.
Whether it will serve to really teach new players the system remains to be seen, but in the meantime, take a look at the mode in action above.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows.
