Developer InoriRus has released the first emulator for PS5 which you can download right now.
The emulator is quite impressive considering it is only 15MB in size and is able to load, run and render games. Albeit, maybe not at the performance and quality of what you would expect. The emulator can run a stable PS5 environment, but it cannot display or run any commercial PS5 games it. InoriRus stated that Kyty lacks support for audio input/output, MP4 video, Network, and Multi-users.
The emulator also functions as a PS4 emulator – as you’ll see in the video down below, Brutal Sam runs Worms W.M.D.
It’s worth noting that Kyty is the third PS4 emulator that is in active development. The other two are Spine and GPCS4. All three emulators are still in development.
Seems like Kyty still has a long way to go before being able to run actual PS5 games, but the progress that has been made already is still quite impressive.
Resorting to emulation to get your PS5 fix? Don’t worry, PS5 shortages should end in 2024 🙁
