Rumours are circling online that one of the new games to be announced at the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on June 12th will be Ark 2. The speculation started after the official Ark: Survival Evolved Twitter account announced that the game’s new expansion map for Fjordur will be revealed on June 12th.
This just so happens to be the same date as the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, so the community is now speculating about the possibility of something extra being thrown into the mix from the Ark team. Apparently, this is also the first time that a game expansion update has been scheduled for a Sunday, something that many players in the Ark community seem to think suggests an Ark reveal of some sort will take place during the showcase event.
That reveal could be Ark 2, which has been in development since the back end of 2020 and was also suggested as being exclusive to Xbox Series S/X by Xbox Games Marketing General Manager Aaron Greenberg in December of that year. Ark 2 will also feature actor Vin Diesel as Santiago. Check out the cinematic reveal trailer for Ark 2 right here.
It’d make sense then, for the potential new game reveal on June 12th to have something to do with Ark 2, which is evidently in the works for Xbox and would tie in with the announcement of an expansion map for Ark: Survival Evolved on the same day.
Of course, this is all predominantly speculative at this point, but it’ll certainly be interesting to see how things pan out when the Xbox and Bethesda showcase airs on June 12th. Not that long to wait, dinosaur tamers. Meanwhile, check out the latest Community Crunch update over on the Ark website to get all the details on the game’s upcoming Fjordur expansion map.
Ark: Survival Evolved is out now and is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and PC.
