Nintendo released a new trailer for upcoming Wii U-exclusive horror game Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water today.
The trailer sets up the narrative of one of the three protagonist’s dark past, shows off some of the Wii U Gamepad gameplay, and more.
In Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, players play as three different protagonists on the fictional Hikami Mountain, a popular location for suicides. A supernatural and spiritual backstory lends itself to malevolent ghosts roaming the area and the series’ iconic Camera Obscura, a supernatural camera that can capture images of ghosts. Players will use the Wii U Gamepad when taking photos of the ghosts, holding the Gamepad up and moving it around to find the right shot.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was originally released in Japan last year under the alternate, Japanese title of Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water. It will be available in North America on Oct. 22, 2015, exclusively through the Nintendo eShop, Oct. 30 in Europe, and Oct. 31 in Australia. Additionally, players can download a trial version of the game for free from the eShop to test out the game before they buy it.
