The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Martial Cybercore Gets Aggresive

October 13, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

One of the ways you can customize your character in Black Ops 3.

Activision released a short video today, giving a brief overview of the Martial Cybercore in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Cybercores refer to ways in which a character can be customized in Black Ops 3. Think of them like character classes in a role-playing game. They offer different perks and power-ups to use in battle. The Martial Cybercore revolves around stealth-based elements, as well as power hitting melee attacks, as you can see in the video below.

“Takedown,” as the replacement melee attack is called, will kill an enemy in one hit and/or knock them back a few yards. “Active Camo” is exactly what it sounds like. Upon activation, your character will become “nearly invisible” and “is most effective when you are not moving.” “Concussive Wave,” is similar to other ground-pound abilities found it sci-fi shooters. Once activated, your character will leap to a designated spot and shock surrounding enemies with a wave of energy. Finally, “Overdrive” provides an all-around boost to almost everything your character does, improving aim, running speed, and “handle equipment for a brief period of time.”

In other Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 news, Treyarch recently announced a new, more difficult setting for the game’s campaign mode (which will not be available on last-generation consoles) called “Realistic.” If you want to give the Realistic setting a shot, don’t worry if a particular mission has you tripping over yourself; all missions will be unlocked from the start.
