Capcom Releases Street Fighter V Beta Details, Testing Cross Platform Play

October 7, 2015 by Holly Green

If you want to get in on this next round, here are some details on what to expect on October 22.

Today on Capcom Unity, new details have been released on the Street Fighter 5 beta. The second global beta wave will start on October 22 and run through the 25th. Beta access will now be available for PC users starting on the 24th, and cross platform play between PlayStation 4 and PC will also be tested on the 24th and 25th. Keeping up with the newly announced Street Fighter 5 characters, Ken, Necalli, Vega and R. Mika will now be selectable when the beta launches, with Rashid debuting on October 23, and Karin on October 24 (the original beta players Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash and M. Bison will not be available). Leaderboards will be up and will combine both PC and PS4 player stats, along with a player profile search feature. Any Fight Money accumulated form the last beta will also be available for spending, however note that all items or stats built up during beta testing will not carry over once the game officially releases.

The first Street Fighter 5 beta, which happened this past July, went rather poorly. Let's hope this one does better. Beta keys are available by pre-ordering from GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, or the PlayStation Store or you can sign up at the link here for the Beta Unroll program.

Street Fighter 5 is expected on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016.
