Following on the heels of its best-selling Fire Emblem entry to date, Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes in February of 2022. Fortunately, fans won’t have long to wait to get their hands on this game. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is scheduled for release on June 24, 2022.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a Warriors-style or musou spin-off of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. If you’ve never played a Warriors game (such as the Dynasty Warriors series or, more recently, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild spinoff, Hyrule Warriors), you may not know what to expect from the gameplay of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Warriors titles feature a style of hack-n-slash gameplay where the player engages in solo battles against large hordes of weak enemies. These games are typically big on action and rely less on story and strategy.
According to the game’s box, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes allows for one or two players, which seems to hint that the title will feature multiplayer options. In all likelihood, the multiplayer will be limited to local co-op, but this is still great news for fans who were hoping to mow down armies of baddies with a friend.
As with every other mainline Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. Digital and physical editions are currently up for preorder at major retailers at the usual $59.99 price. A limited-edition bundle (including the game, five acrylic figurines, an art book, and more) appears to only be available in Europe for the time being.
