How to Exchange Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition Game Code for Physical Copy

October 5, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

343 Industries and Microsoft are making good on their promise to offer exchange program.

Details on how consumers who pick up Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition will be able to exchange the included code that redeems a digital download of Halo 5: Guardians for a physical copy of the game instead have been revealed by developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft.

On the official customer support page on Xbox’s website, Microsoft details how the process will work for players who wish to exchange their download code for a physical copy of Halo 5: Guardians. First and foremost, those who plan to make this exchange CAN NOT redeem the code for the game included in the Limited Collector’s Edition. If the code is redeemed, the exchange cannot be made.

The window of opportunity for this exchange will last from Oct. 20 (the release date of the Limited Collector’s Edition) until Nov. 1, 2015. Below are the official steps for making the exchange:

  1. Open the Contact Us page.
  2. Select “Chat with Microsoft Support” to chat with a support agent.
  3. Once you’re connected, inform them that you want to exchange your unredeemed digital code for Halo 5: Guardians for a physical disc.
  4. You'll need to provide the agent with the following information:

    • Your Xbox gamertag
    • Your email address
    • The token's 25-character code
    • Your address for shipment

This exchange program was created was in response to fans who asked 343 Industries and Microsoft to include a physical copy of the game in the Limited Collector’s Edition, which costs $250. The pricey bundle includes a steelbook case, a statue of Agent Locke, DLC content, special packaging, and more.
