Microsoft has announced that Xbox One users will soon be able to remap buttons on all controllers, not just the $150 Elite controller.
Players with an Elite controller will be able to change the D-Pad, thumbsticks, fine tune controllers for faster responses in first-person shoters, and tune your triggers. Another feature is button remapping, but it turns out everyone will be able to do this with a standard controller as well.
Xbox director of program managment Mike Ybarra responded to a fan on Twitter, commenting:

How much this feature will be used will vary from player to player but having the option is certainly nice.
