Treyarch and Activision have released the story trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and it may have a familiar feel. We also have information on the cast from the trailer.
There is no doubt that Christopher Meloni is playing antagonist John Taylor anymore, as he features prominently in the trailer.
Battlestar Galactica breakout star Katee Sackhoff is also in, as Sarah Hall. Sarah was handpicked to join Special Forces after graduating to the top of her class in the military.
Also in the cast:
· Tony Amendola as Dr Yousef Salim
· Sean Douglas as Jacob Hendricks
· Rachel Kimsey as Rachel Kane
· Ben Browder
· Abby Brammell
In the story trailer setting, you and the other members of the Special Forces investigate what appears to be an augmentation mission gone wrong. Taylor was the head of this mission, and you will actually get to talk to him, as he seems to want to convince you he only wants to take his men home. There are also hints that things are not what they seem, and there's a deep dark secret to discover, if you dare.
I know it wasn’t just me who thought of the parallels between this premise and Yager’s 2012 breakout hit,Spec Ops The Line, as well as that game’s inspiration, the grim military novel Heart of Darkness. Much like Spec Ops, Black Ops 3 seems like it took this novel’s conceit and put their own spin on it.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 6, 2015. Please remember the story mode will not be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
