The Rainbow Six Siege closed beta, which was originally scheduled to end on Monday, Sept. 28 and then on Oct. 1 after its first extension, will now conclude on Sunday, Oct. 4, Ubisoft announced in a blog post.
Ubisoft is using the added time to continue collecting feedback, data, and finding “potential issues.” Additionally, players should have received an email with a code they may give out to someone who does not have access to the closed beta. Previously, the only way to get into the beta was by pre-ordering the game. The extra code that has been given out to beta-testers is for the same console (PlayStation 4 or Xbox One) that they registered (see: pre-ordered) for when signing up for the beta.
Starting Friday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. ET, players will be able to earn “Double Renown,” which will enable them to more quickly unlock operators, attachments, and skins for their guns.
The beta registration page will be taken down on Oct. 1. If you have a beta key, it will be redeemable until Oct. 2.
Ubisoft has already made improvements to matchmaking time and says that if matchmaking takes longer than 90 seconds to find a match to back out of matchmaking and try again. The developer also provided this list of workarounds if you continue to experience technical issues.
Originally scheduled to be released on Oct. 13, Rainbow Six Siege was recently delayed until Dec. 1. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC when it launches.
