Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes in February of 2022, and fans don’t have much longer to wait: the title launches on June 24, 2022. The game’s trailer dropped several hints about what to expect from this new entry into the Fire Emblem series, including a new dual-wielding protagonist named Shez. The trailer also teases the game’s villain, the Ashen Demon, which will appear as a male or female Byleth depending on which version the player chooses.
As with every other mainline Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will be exclusive to Nintendo consoles. This is bad news for fans who may not own a Nintendo Switch or who may have been hoping to play on PC. While there’s no harm in holding out hope for ports to other systems, Nintendo is famously stingy with its IPs. Your best bet is to hunt for a Nintendo Switch sale or keep your eyes peeled for the long-rumored Nintendo Switch Pro.
Fans can preorder the digital version of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes from the Nintendo eShop. Physical editions are currently up for preorder at major retailers at the standard price of $59.99. There is also a limited-edition collector’s bundle (which includes the game, five acrylic figurines, an art book, and more), but sadly it appears to be a European exclusive for the time being.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a Musou or Warriors-style spin-off of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Players will fight in 1-vs-1000 battles, and according to the trailer, many familiar characters will be present, including Claude, Dmitir, and Edelgard. The game will feature four possible story paths depending on the player’s choices, although none will affect the events of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
