PES 2016’s Glaring Omission Won’t Be Fixed Until October

September 24, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Konami’s sole remaining console release for the year isn’t what it was supposed to be at launch.

Konami released PES 2016 with a glaring omission. Now, they have clarified what they’re doing about it, and it still feels too little too late.

What is missing is the updates to everyone’s teams and stats, so if you bought it or are buying it now, you would essentially be getting the same game asPES 2015. Updates will be coming, but not immediately.

On October 1, there will be live updates for the online modes, namely Online Divisions, Friendly Match Lobby, Team Play Lobby, Online Competition, and Quick Match. You will be able to update rosters for online play, as well as some offline play. Exhibition Matches and Friendlies can use the new rosters, but only for one-offs, and presumably as long as you’re online.

The real full update will come on October 29. This will update rosters to all modes, including myClub. It will also add new teams.

This ommission didn't seem bad enough to affect reviews, as you can see in our roundup here.

Did you buy PES 2016? Are you waiting out the updates? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
