Valve's Chet Faliszek hasn't given up hope on seeing the Steam platform on the Xbox 360. Speaking to Develop, Faliszek says that the decision to exclude Steam from 360 release of Portal 2 was made by Microsoft and not Valve. Sony did not have any exclusivity on the title, he said. Faliszek explained that even though Sony allowed the Steam service to operate on its platform, they still had to jump through the same hoops and hurdles with every update.
Faliszek raised the possibility of having Steam on the Xbox 360, who further iterated that the company had more plans for Portal 2 yet to come.
"There's some big changes that still need to go through, so we'll have to see," said Faliszek when asked if it would be possible for Steam to provide updates to the PS3 versions of its games in the same way it does on the PC and Mac. "We're open to that and it'd be a cool idea but we're just going to have to wait."
