Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard’s take on the multiplayer online battle arena genre, will be getting some new skins and mounts in a future update, the developer revealed today in a showcase video.
The video begins by showing off several new skins and color variants for Lt. Morales, a character from Blizzard’s StarCraft universe. One of these variants, seen above, looks a lot like Samus Aran from Nintendo’s Metroid franchise. The video, nor its description, makes any mention of this, but it is no doubt a callout to the famed intergalactic adventurer.
Another StarCraft character on its way to Heroes of the Storm, Artanis, is also shown off in this video. Artanis will also be getting a slew of unique skins, including one that bears resemblance to another popular Blizzard character, The Lich King from Warcraft.
Already-existing character Raynor will be getting a new skin called Marshal Raynor that takes inspiration from spaghetti western films. His weapon also changes into a shotgun and a sheriff’s badge is placed over his head when he uses is skill Inspire.
Falstad is also getting a new skin called Buccaneer Falstad. With this skin equipped, Flastad will shoot cannonballs instead of hammers.
New mounts in the video include a Void Speeder, Nexus Battle Beast, and more.
All of this content will be made available “soon,” Blizzard says.
In other Heroes of the Storm news, Blizzard detailed Rexxar, a half-orc, half-ogre hunter from the Warcraft universe, as the newest addition to the Heroes of the Storm roster.
