Peacock’s upcoming video game adaption of Sony’s original classic title, Twisted Metal, has received some new details. Thanks to Deadline, we have some news about some actors who are jumping aboard the project as well as the roles they are set to play.
The report from Deadline states that Thomas Haden Church, Anthony Mackie (Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and Stephanie Beatriz ( Encanto) will be joining the adaptation and it seems like some big roles. The show will follow a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but the catch is he has to deliver packages across a very dangerous post-apocalyptic world. Fans of the games will of course see some characters from the original title, including everyone’s favorite deranged clown.
Deadline reports the actor’s roles which you can check out in detail down below:
- Church will play Agent Stone, a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest of judgements. Agent Stone will stop at nothing to bring law and order back to the Divided States of America, and will kill anyone in his path who defies his power.
- Mackie portrays John Doe, a smart ass, motor-mouthed Milkman who talks as fast as he drives, facing savage vehicles of destruction as he delivers much needed supplies from one post apocalyptic settlement to another. With no memory of his family or past, John’s only goal is survival, until he gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make his wish of finding community come true.
- Beatriz plays Quiet, a ferocious, badass car thief who acts purely on instinct – you couldn’t stop her any more than a manhole could stop a volcano. Coming from a community that oppressed her into silence, Quiet’s wish is to find her place in this dark, chaotic world. But when she becomes clouded by her need for revenge, Quiet forms an unlikely, antagonistic bond with John Doe.
The television series will be written and executive produced by Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith, while Anthony Mackie of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier fame will star in the show. Will Arnett and Marc Forman will also executive produce. The adaptation was announced earlier this year and has gone sort of quiet since then. There has been plenty of talks about bringing this show to life, so let’s hope this is the time we see it come to fruition. Learn more about the initial announcement of the series right here!
