Suda51 is an eccentric video game developer, to say the least. Goichi Suda, known by his pseudonym Suda51, is the chief executive officer of Grasshopper Manufacture, and he has previously worked on games such as No More Heroes 3 and Let It Die.
There’s reason to believe that the Japanese game creator could reveal his next project either later this year or in early 2023. He recently discussed his future plans in a NetEase Connect 2022 stream. Around 27 minutes into the video, Suda51 says that he would like to make projects that are focused and “directed towards a younger audience.”
Suda51 did not elaborate on this statement or provide any further details about his future games. However, looking back at past interviews with Suda51 provides some hints about where his studio could be going next. In an interview with Destructoid, Suda51 mentioned that Grasshopper Manufacture owns the Shadows of the Damned IP. Fans of No More Heroes 3 might be aware that certain Shadows of the Damned characters tie into the plot of that game. During the interview, Suda51 said, “There is a relatively good chance that you’re going to see some or all of them again at some time in the future.”
In a completely different direction, Suda51 also revealed that he has had conversations with Marvel about a potential new game. In an interview with the Japanese outlet Automaton, he said that there had been meetings with Marvel and that he had “talked about the possibility of working together on something.” During a Livestream with IGN Japan, he brought up potential superhero games he would like to work on, such as Shatterstar, Deadpool, and Quicksilver.
The idea of Suda51 taking on a Marvel game such as Deadpool would be fantastic. However, he also mentioned that the first thing his studio will do next is to create an original IP.
The NetEase Livestream also revealed that a new studio, called Yabukiri Studio, will now work under Grasshopper Manufacture.
