Brawler/action-RPG X-Men: Destiny has been released, and with it we are shown a little trailer. It’s standard X-Men fare: we get shown mutants getting along with the normal humans until something bad happens. Somebody says a gruff “No”, then the whole semi-racist semi-transhumanist notion of hating on the mutants ensues. That provides a global intrigue for X-Men, in a nutshell.
Nothing is different here, except for the fact that you are shown too many well known X-Men you won’t play as. There are three playable heroes, and they’re mostly blank slates. You get to choose their “destiny”, and one of those choices is going on Xavier’s side with the X-Men or become one of Magneto’s lackeys.
X-Men: Destiny is out now on the Playstation 3, Xbox360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.
