A South African retailer has leaked a pending Bioshock Collection, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Raru, which had previously leaked the Splatoon amiibo, also lists a release date of November 27, 2015.
While no further details have been revealed, based on the conventions set by previous collections, this bundle will likely have all the Bioshock games, include the DLC, and possibly have bonus material. They will also be optimized in such a way that they will be pitched as the ultimate versions of these games.
The Bioshock games date back to 2007, originally released for Windows and Xbox 360. Through the years, these games were brought to PlayStation 3, OS X, iOS, and even Linux.
There have been special editions of Bioshock before. Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition bundles the first two games with the DLC, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In the meantime, Bioshock Infinite The Complete Edition also released for 7th gen consoles with all the DLC, pre-order bonuses, a new Clash in the Clouds arena mode, and exclusive weapons.
Bioshock as a series, and its individual games, have been both celebrated and vilified by critics, including on this site, but there’s no disputing its popularity. While a new Bioshock game is under development after Ken Levine by 2K Marin, a collection would make sense to keep interest in the IP alive.
Of course, the three Bioshock games are readily available now on Steam, including as a bundle, but that would not discourage core fans. Would you buy a remaster of the Bioshock games on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
