With the release of SOMA almost upon us, Frictional Games has released a new story trailer for the game.
Set in an underwater research facility, players must brave the enclosed environments and survive the awakening of machines, which have become self-aware.
The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and we’re going to have to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What makes sense? What is left to fight for?
Given how Amnesia: The Dark Descent played out, escape from the facility may not necessarily be possible, and players will most certainly be forced to question their concepts of identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human.
In addition, the studio has also published a new blog post delving into the creation of the game's spooky sound effects.
SOMA will be out on the PS4 and PC on September 22.
