Bandai Namco has announced the release date for Dark Souls 3. The highly anticipated action role-playing game and third entry in the series will be released on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One in April 2016.
The game invites players to explore an all new world filled with hidden secrets, dangerous monsters, and a host of new environments as they search to destroy the awakened Lords of Cinder and discover what happened to the land.
Fans of the series can expect a lot of the hardcore melee combat offered in the previous titles in the series, as well as some mechanical innovations from Bloodborne.
Skills are a new addition to the game's combat mechanics, adding attack modifiers to each weapon type and allowing players an increased tactical advantage in combat. Players can increase an axe's attack power with War Cry, or break an enemy's guard down with a quick upward swing from Ready Stance.
As always, players will be able to equip their character with a wide variety of armor, medieval weaponry, and even use powerful magic to develop their own style of play.
