Thor Love and Thunder is for many one of the most-anticipated films for the MCU this year (and arguably, the year overall). Given the mostly positive response to Thor Ragnarok, and the promise from the film’s director that more of the same is coming, it’s not too surprising that fans are excited for Love and Thunder. But one of the biggest and most important things here is that in this film, we’re going to get Jane Foster suiting up as The Mighty Thor, and as the image above shows, she’s going to be getting to know the new King of Asgard via Valkyrie.
This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, because for as the film synopsis notes, the threat of Gorr the God Butcher is a threat to all the gods of the universe, so Jane getting to team up with Valkyrie is natural. But, what might be lost here is that apparently, it’s in New Asgard that Jane gets her new abilities as she somehow reforges the mighty Mjolnir, hence giving her the moniker of The Mighty Thor.
Of course, Valkyrie was in many ways the MVP of the third Thor film, and Tessa Thompson played this version of the character to perfection in the eyes of many, so seeing her with the OG woman of the franchise is no doubt going to unleash much banter.
Not to mention what happens when Thor himself shows up and sees his old flame and his best friend talking about things…like him…
In short, things are going to get very exciting, and we’ve still only seen one true trailer for the movie, and that didn’t have any looks at Gorr The God Butcher, so with the film coming out in July, fans are going to be waiting for more drops like this so they can see what else awaits them.
