Youtuber WWE2Kdev, who may or may not actually be a developer, has shared some new snippets of gameplay for WWE 2K16.
We can muse about roster predictions as much as we want, but at the end of the day gameplay matters more. Thankfully, these previews seem to indicate we’re in good hands.
The first video shows some familiar faces rendered by 2K, Bret the Hitman Hart and The Honky Tonk Man. The two men really did face each other multiple times in the late 1980s and early 1990s, even if their feud wasn’t particularly well known. In this clip, Bret locks on his signature move, the Sharpshooter, on HTM. You can see 2K Sports took note of details, as Bret slowly and realistically transitions into the move.
The second video below shows off some younger superstars, the Divas Alicia Fox and Naomi. Alicia demonstrates her creative leg drop bulldog variation, nicknamed the Foxy Buster. I doubt there are any complaints that playing the women will be any less more fun than the men.
2K Sports raised expectations with the bigger roster for WWE 2K16. Given the Divas and male Superstars aren’t allowed to wrestle each other, I think many fans, like me, expect most of the NXT and WWE Divas to be playable so there are enough wrestlers to go around, if not all of them.
Do you think 2K Sports got all the Divas in alongside the Legends and other Superstars? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
WWE 2K16 will be released on October 27, 2015 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
