Unlike its predecessors, Fallout 4 will be uncensored in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland when it launches on Nov. 10 this year, Bethesda confirmed on the German Fallout Facebook page.
The post on the German Fallout Facebook page (via NeoGAF) translates to, “It is official. Fallout 4 will appear 100% uncut on November 10, 2015 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.”
Both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are banned in Germany in their uncensored forms. Special cut versions of both games were released in Germany that did not portray dismemberment, among other things. This also led to patches being delayed for German players.
It was also a surprise earlier this year when Mortal Kombat X was released uncensored in Germany, a first for the Mortal Kombat series. Signs seem to be pointing to the USK (Germany’s video games ratings board) easing up on some of their traditionally strict ratings requirements.
A couple of days ago, the Australian Classification Board released their rating for Fallout 4, giving it a “Mature 15+” rating. The ACB cited language, drug use, and sex use as having a moderate impact on their rating and violence as having a strong impact.
Fallout 4 will be released on Nov. 10, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
