Gentleman, start your engines. A new Wii U bundle just wheeled out onto "retail shelves". Available in stores now, it includes a pre-installed copy of Mario Kart 8, along with a Nintendo eShop download card for both DLC packs (which add new vehicles and tracks, as well as Cat Peach, Link, Tanooki Mario, Dry Bowser, Isabelle, Villager from Animal Crossing, and Shy Guys and Yoshis, as playable characters) , for $299.99. Get it now and you can test that bad boy out on Super Mario Maker when it launches later this week on September 11.
Mario Kart 8 debuted to strong reviews from both fans and critics last May. In the free update to version 2.0 the following August, Nintendo, in an unprecedented cross promotion with Mercedes Benz, added the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA, 1957 SL 300 Roadster, and 1934 W25 Silver Arrow to the game, making the three cars playable as karts. No further updates or DLC have been announced.
