It looks like delays are the name of the game in the games news world today. Those excited for the upcoming first-ever story DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on it, it seems. According to tweets put out earlier this afternoon by the Dying Light official Twitter feed, the game’s first DLC isn’t quite ready to go out just yet.
The massively popular zombie survival RPG has now plotted a release window of sometime between September and November for the first story DLC. That’s according to the new and updated post-launch roadmap shared earlier by Techland.
Eager players needn’t be too disappointed at having to wait a little bit longer though. The developers have also shared that there’ll be a new content update for the game coming in June. This will be the first game Chapter, and will be called “In the Footsteps of a Nightrunner”. The upcoming Chapter update is promised to be full of new events and content to presumably tide players over while they wait for the full first DLC to be ready to launch.
There’s clearly a lot going on over at Techland right now. As reported a few weeks ago, they’re still working hard on maintaining support for the original Dying Light game, as well as working on new content and DLC for Dying Light 2.
While setbacks and delays for games can be disappointing for some, usually, these things are for the best. If anything, today’s announcement shows a team that is committed to providing only the most completed content and only when it’s ready to be played. We’ll see towards the back end of the year when the first story DLC is actually launched.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is available now on Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
