2K Sports have outlined how they have made NBA 2K16 a living world.
A dynamically changing system brings the personality out of your favorite players and teams, by having them react to each other and also move on their own. There are enough subtleties incorporated in that you would notice how coaches affect each team’s play style.
Case in point, Stephen Curry. If Curry’s AI sees the opportunity for a three pointer, he will take it. If the opportunity does not come up, Curry will instead run up to the front of the basket.
Guarding interactions and collisions will be noticeably different, as will be sideways movement. Each player now gets four variations for these sideways movements. This part of the game was rebuilt from the ground up.
One impressive addition is the use of foot data, so that 2K Sports could recreate how players move more accurately. It recreates as much as the point a player’s feet touch the ground.
There are now three pass buttons, expanding the possibilities to use different kinds of passes, so that you too can make use of situational awareness.
In the end is what 2K Sports calls the smartest game they have ever made.
NBA 2K16 A Spike Lee Joint will be released this September 29, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox 360.
