Mega Man Movie Reportedly in the Works at Fox

September 4, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Development has started on the project according to reports.

Mega Man may be heading to the silver screen if a report from The Tracking Board is accurate.

One of the most popular video game franchises of the all time, Mega Man is apparently receiving the full feature film treatment from 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment.

The Tracking Board states, "20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have started development" on the movie. The two companies are also behind the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise.

Mega Man launched in 1987 for the NES and spawned dozens of sequels in the years since, leading to sales of more than 30 million copies.

Lionsgate, the studio behind The Hunger Games, recently announced that it is adapting Gearbox's Borderlands for the big screen. Ubisoft recently revealed the first image of Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch in the Assassin's Creed movie.

We recently rounded-up five upcoming video game adaptations which may not suck.
