Youtuber "HaloFollower" has broken down the images in the recently-released Halo 5: Guardians opening cinematic and come up with a couple theories about the game.
The trailer, released at E3, shows Fire Team Osiris fighting Jul 'Mdama as Dr. Catherine Halsey looks on in the background. HaloFollower speculates that every character seems to have a preferred weapon, possibly indicating the presence of character classes is the game.
And there's the risk-based tracking system, which the trailer shows as common to all fire team member's armor rather than only to Jameson Locke's.
There's also an image in the trailer of the fire team smashing through rock formations, and fragments realistically flying about in the wake. This could obviously be a canned, pre-rendered flourish, but it also might hint at destructible terrain in the final game.
We also get a shot of what appears to be the Wraith in Halo 5 — a far cry from the low-poly version we first saw in the original Halo. If you don't recall what I mean, it looked like this:
All that, plus a possibly plausible theory that Halo 5 might take place on Earth.
