The Lost City Premiers May 10 on Paramount+

May 9, 2022 by Blue Williams

The Sandra Bullock/Channing Tatum comedy premiers May 10 on Paramount+

The Lost City is scheduled to premiere on May 10 on Paramount+. The comedy, which stars Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, will launch first in the United States and Canada on the streaming service. Other locations, including Germany, Australia, Italy, the UK, Switzerland, and Austria, will get access to the film later this year.

Bullock stars as Loretta Sage, a grieving romance novelist reluctantly on a book tour. She is accompanied by Alan (Tatum), her book’s handsome idiot of a cover model who charms her fans. While on tour, Loretta is kidnapped by Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe). Fairfax is an explorer who wants Loretta to translate some ancient texts so that he can find the mythical lost city from Loretta’s novel. Alan embarks on a quest to save her, joined by Brad Pitt and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Missing ancient treasure and an impending volcano eruption provide the story’s MacGuffin and ticking clock, respectively.

The Lost City debuted in theaters on March 25 and has so far grossed over $162 million worldwide. The movie scored 6.5/10 on IMDb and currently sits at 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. RogerEbert.com called the movie a predictable yet “undeniably charming (and refreshingly IP-free) romantic romp”. The New York Times names Brad Pitt as the highlight of this “cheerfully dumb comedy” that sees Sandra Bullock playing her most successful role: as Sandra Bullock.

Paramount+ offers ad-free plans for $9.99/month or plans with limited ad interrupts for $4.99/month. However, if you don’t currently subscribe to the streaming service but you’d still like to check out The Lost City, Paramount+ offers one-week trials.
