Spells & Secrets, a new wizard-based adventure that’s expected to launch fully in 2023 has just added a new co-op mode into its arsenal. The game, which has been developed by Alchemist Interactive and published by Rokaplay, is a cosy wizard-themed 3D action-adventure game which focuses on puzzle mechanics, a rogue-lite style and procedurally generated environments.
After being a raging success on Kickstarter, where the game has already been funded by 450%, Spells & Secrets has been confirmed as coming to Nintendo Switch in full next year. The game’s Kickstarter campaign is due to close tomorrow, and it’s fair to say that there’s a lot of support behind it from the community. With Spells & Secrets currently in the early access phase on Steam, the game is generating a lot of interesting feedback. Publishers Rokaplay has recently released a brand new trailer showcasing the game’s local co-op mode, which you can check out right here.
In addition to the game’s local co-op, the magical sandbox adventure offers online co-op play, currently via Steam remote play and presumable on the Switch when it launches in 2023.
Spells & Secrets sees players taking on the role of a first-year student of the magic arts, arriving at the Academy of Greifenstein. It’s all very mysterious when a strange incident on your first day throws the school into turmoil. Through learning a range of spells and working out how to use them creatively, players will need to save the ever-changing castle academy and rescue their lost schoolmates. Exploration, spellcasting and puzzle-solving are at the heart of this cosy adventure game.
There’s no exact confirmed release date for the game on Nintendo Switch yet but we’ll be keeping one ear to the ground for further updates.
Spells & Secrets is currently available in Early Access on Steam and will be released in full for the Nintendo Switch at some point in 2023.
