Xbox is expected to attend this year’s Gamescom. Per Jez Corden on the Xbox Two Podcast, Xbox will resume its usual attendance at the gaming trade show in Cologne, Germany, now that the program is returning to in-person events for 2022.
Microsoft recently announced The Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, which will air on June 12th as part of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest lineup. Considering that Gamescom is in August, Xbox fans may be wondering if it’s worth getting hyped for two big shows in such close succession. Does Microsoft have enough new projects in the works to make both shows something special?
“I have heard that they [Xbox] will be at Gamescom this year. They’ll have a presence […] because Gamescom actually has an in-person event this year. Maybe they will save something for Gamescom,” said Corden.
Gamescom hosted digital events in 2020 and 2021 due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the show will be a hybrid event with both digital and in-person offerings. Gamescom has also announced that this year’s show will be a climate-friendly presentation. Koelnmesse, the event organizer, has pledged to offset all emissions generated from the event.
