DICE has announced a Star Wars Battlefront beta 'technical test' will take place in October, ahead of the game's November launch.
The beta is set to feature 'Walker Assault' on Hoth, a 40-player multiplayer battle featuring Rebels and the Empire. You'll be able to play as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader during the battle. There's also going to be a Survival Mission on Tatooine, in which you and another Rebel must repel waves of Imperial troops. A new mode has also been announced, Drop Zone, though details of what that will entail have yet to be confirmed.
EA says information on the beta, how to gain entry, and what's involved will be revealed over the coming weeks.
A 'Star Wars Battlefront Companion' experience – available online or through an iOS or Android app – will also be available. The Companion will let players partake in the strategic Base Command card game to unlock un-game Credits for use on Star Cards, weapons, and other items.
You can also use it to check stats, connect with friends, and get notifications when they're playing the game.
Star Wars Battlefront launches on November 17th.
