Activision revealed last Friday that Call of Duty Black Ops 3 was the biggest beta for any single game for the PlayStation 4.
Activision did not share any actual figures, but it definitely had the most downloads, gameplay sessions, and total gameplay hours compared to other betas that have been held on the system. These include Battlefield Hardline and Activision’s other major shooter IP, Destiny.
SCE’s Adam Boyes had this to say:
Played by millions of PlayStation fans around the world, the response to the beta was massive and shows the strength when bringing together the best-selling console franchise with the best-selling game console. Signaling an impressive start of a new era for PlayStation and this famed franchise, there was no better way to welcome Call of Duty to its new home on PlayStation 4.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6 on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
