The release of Firaxis's upcoming turn-based strategy game XCOM 2 has been delayed to February 5, 2016. The game, which is slated for release on the PC, will not be coming out this year because the developers intend to take a little more time to develop it.
"We’ve set a high bar for the sequel and the entire team has been working hard to make sure we deliver a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown. We just need a little more time to make it the best possible game," said the developers in an official blog post.
The studio added that they intend to provide players with more depth, replayability, and investment in your soldiers. They believe that the time extension will allow them the ability to deliver on their promise.
Given that this holiday season is packed with releases across every platform, one delay won't hurt.
