Bethesda games have finally returned to GOGcom, as GOG announces forging a new partnership with them, and along with this, picking up some of Bethesda’s greatest past hits.
Now available DRM-free through GOG are games from the Doom, Quake, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls series. Of course, this launch comes with some great promos, which we’ll run down below:
Get The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind GOTY Edition, The Elder Scrolls Battlespire, andThe Elder Scrolls Adventures Redguard together for a 33 % discount.
Get Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 (includes Master Levels and Final Doom), and Quake (includes Mission Packs 1 and 2) together for a 33 % discount.
Get Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics together for a deep 66 % discount.
Buy at least one of these games to get The Elder Scrolls Arena and The Elder Scrolls 2 Darrerfall free.
Of course, this renewed partnership with Bethesda means GOG could get their newer games on their platform down the line, including Fallout 3, Doom, and via GOG Galaxy, possibly even The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited.
On the side, Bethesda bringing the Fallout games to GOG is particularly significant, since it did not seem like GOG would ever be getting the games back. GOG previously picked up the rights to distribute the games via Interplay, but briefly had to stop selling the games (opting to share them for free for a period) over the Bethesda vs Interplay lawsuit, before eventually pulling them completely. Bethesda eventually settled with Interplay, but it took this long for Bethesda and GOG to broker a new deal.
