Pokemon Shuffle Mobile is finally available in iOS and Android. However, this is only for Japan, at least for now.
Pokemon Shuffle Mobile is the mobile version ofPokemon Shuffle, a freemiun puzzle game on 3DS.It is similar in many ways to Pokemon Battle Trozei. Mainly, both are matching three games which allow you to battle and capture Pokemon. Beating Pokemon allows you to earn in-game coins and get their Pokemon to earn experience. These coins allow you to purchase power ups, like extra moves.
Pokemon Shuffle also has a recharge system considered conventional in mobile gaming; you need to have a certain number of hearts to play a stage, and players need to wait some time to earn as much as five hearts. You can buy hearts and coins using eShop funds.
Pokemon Shuffle has received mixed critical reception, but is an unqualified commercial success boasting 2.5 million downloads. Given that the game was partly conceived as an experiment if Nintendo platforms could do well with these kinds of games, a move to mobile may have been inevitable.
In fact, plans for Pokemon Shuffle Mobile were known before Nintendo revealed their deal to make mobile games with DeNA. To be clear, this is not one of those games. Pokemon Company has freedom to bring their games outside Nintendo, and the late CEO Iwata also made clear their games with DeNA will be completely original, and developed by EAD.
Pokemon Shuffle Mobile is bound to come to the West. Would you play this game on your smartphone? Do you think it will crush the likes of Candy Crush Saga? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
