There are 19 confirmed superstars joining the 120 person roster of WWE 2K16. Thankfully, it includes more NXT wrestlers, as well as Finn Balor’s best friend.
Debuting in All Japan Pro Wrestling in 2000, Hideo Itami originally went by the name Kenta Kobayashi, or Kenta for short. Kenta originally trained as a kickboxer, so he’s known for the stiffest kicks and strikes. Years before he was even signed up with the WWE, hardcore wrestling fans got a taste of Kenta’s exciting hard knocks style in Ring of Honor, representing Pro Wrestling NOAH. Prior to his debut, Kenta moved up weight divisions to heavyweight, and became NOAH’s heavyweight champion.
Also confirmed for the roster was the first wrestler to cleanly pin John Cena for quite a while: Kevin Owens, real name Kevin Steen. Owens is one of the most accomplished new wrestlers from the independent circuit, ramping up championships and feuds in ROH, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Combat Zone Wrestling, where he was the longest reigning Iron Man Champion.
